luck, timing, and a quick trigger finger

counting crows traveling circus and medicine show

Augustana plays an acoustic show at the 506 tonight; it’s sold out, so you’re probably out of luck in getting to see them, alas, just like me, but I can share this photo, which remains one of the best shots I’ve ever taken. The summer of 2010, the Counting Crows summer tour, my beloved now-dead D60 Six and my faithful 100mm Nikkor manual lens. It was sheer luck that I got it this clearly, lights and placement and my own steady hands, but it was the shot that made me believe in myself, to try and keep doing this.

And so I have, and I am grateful to Dan Layus for that, immensely.
